MARVEL'S DAREDEVIL - TRAILER 2

INTERLOCKING POSTERS REVEALED FOR NETFLIX'S DAREDEVIL

Check out these 5 posters that come together to make one image.
The countdown has begun for Daredevil, which hits Netflix on April 10. While the anticipation is building, a new poster is released for the show featuring five characters from the upcoming show.

From left to right, there's Eldon Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk. All the posters lock together to show the streets of Hell's Kitchen, where the show takes place.

AN ANIMATED ’60S ‘BATMAN’ MOVIE IS COMING FOR THE SHOW’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY

“You can look forward to a new, animated Batman full-length 90 minute feature, coming out on the 50th anniversary.”

So sayeth Burt Ward, Robin the Boy Wonder on the 1960s Batman television show and film, at a recent convention appearance, revealing that the iconic camp series’ 50th anniversary will be celebrated by he and co-star Adam West by providing their voices for a new animated movie done in the style of their old show.
A huge success in its day, remembered for its goofy humor, bright costumes, outlandish villains, and melodramatic cliffhangers, West and Ward’s Batman eventually became the black sheep of the comic-book adaptation world.
Its arch, winking tone marked it as a dated relic, and its “Pow! Ziff! Gorff!” sound effects became a dismissive shorthand in a million mainstream news articles supposedly proclaiming comics “aren’t for kids any more” (while simultaneously implying that they should be). But as comics gained increasing cultural legitimacy in recent years, the ’60s Batman has undergone a bit of a reevaluation. Despite all that baggage, it was often an incredibly entertaining show.
DC now publishes a (very fun) Batman ’66 comic book, and the entire run of the series was recently released on Blu-ray. After decades of dismissal, ’60s Batman is kind of cool again. With the show’s golden anniversary upon us, it’s a perfect time to give West and Ward’s interpretations of the characters one last great moment in the spotlight (although Ward does also say in that video above that there could possibly be two animated projects in the works next year). Will the Dynamic Duo get a duo of dynamic DVDs to dazzle devout Bat-devotees? Tune in next blog post to find out: Same Bat-time, Sam Bat-website!

MILES MORALES, IRON MAN & CAPTAIN AMERICA ROUND OUT "ALL-NEW, "ALL-DIFFERENT AVENGERS"

The full roster has been revealed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marvel has un-redacted the cover for its Free Comic Book Day offering featuring the debut of the post-"Secret Wars" Avengers, revealing the full line-up of the team, which includes Miles Morales, (non-Superior) Iron Man, Captain America (Sam Wilson).

A lo-res scan of the cover surfaced last night on the 4Chan message boards before being officially released this morning via WIRED. While the official art doesn't include the cover credits, the original scans indicated that Mark Waid and Mahmud Asrar are the creative team behind the story, which Marvel has confirmed.

Marvel's "All-New, All-Different Avengers," with a cover by Jerome Opeña, arrives on Free Comic Book Day, May 2.

BATTLEWORLD: DECIPHERING THE THEME PARK MAP OF THE POST-MARVEL UNIVERSE ( III )

More parts ...

9. KING JAMES' ENGLAND

Another regal name. This is not, as I reflexively imagined, a world in which reality warper Jamie Braddock is king. The clue here is that King James I ascended the English throne in 1603, which makes this the world of Marvel after 1602. That is, the world after Marvel 1602. Get it? Get it?
But Marvel isn't calling the series set in this domain '1603'; instead it's called 1602: Witch Hunter Angela, in which Asgard's assassin is re-imagined as, presumably, an agent of King James' notorious crackdown on witches, courtesy of writers Marguerite Bennett and Kieron Gillen, artist Stephanie Hans, and various guest artists. Intriguingly, the story will feature a 1602 version of the Guardians of The Galaxy.

10. WEIRDWORLD

Created by Doug Moench and Mike Ploog for Marvel Super Action in the late 1970s, Weirdworld is a magical fantasy land full of dwarfs and elves and... that sort of thing.
We guessed this generous expanse of Battleworld was set aside for any and all strange fantasy scraps that Marvel happens to have kicking around, and that seems to be the case. Jason Aaron and Mike Del Mundo will explore Weirdworld in a sword-and-sorcery adventure series starring Arkon, the extra-dimensional warlord created by Roy Thomas and John Buscema.

11. K'UN-LUN

Marvel's pulpy pseudo-Shambhalla of Eastern mysticism. This dominion will be the setting for a Master Of Kung-Fu series starring an alternate reality Shang-Chi, from the creative team of Haden Blackman and Talibor Talajic.

12. UTOPOLIS

We guessed that this refers to Mark Gruenwald's Squadron Supreme world, in which the Cosmpolis-based heroes tried to create a perfect society through "the Utopia Program."
Close; it's actually the home domain of the Squadron Supreme's evil predecessors, the Squadron Sinister, created by Roy Thomas and Sal Buscema. Mark Guggenheim and Carlos Pacheco will tell the story of these villainous analogs of DC's Justice League.

FIRST GLIMPSE AT POST-’SECRET WARS’ AVENGERS REVEALS MS. MARVEL, NEW THOR, AND… ????

All-New All-Different Avengers is one of two Marvel Free Comic Book Day titles, alongside Secret Wars #0, and while the latter sets the stage for Marvel’s multiversal summer event, the former is our first look at what the new Marvel Universe will look like after Secret Wars — so of course, Marvel is only telling us so much. The publisher has now revealed a cover for the Free Comic Book Day All-New All-Different Avengers comic, but most of the cover remains in silhouette.
Still, that won’t stop us from wildly speculating (and maybe even making some informed guesses).
All-New All-Different Avengers was previously teased with a cover that was all black but for the logos, but the Free Comic Book Day website has promised that the book will be “your first taste of the all-new Marvel Universe as a blockbuster top secret Avengers creative team sets out on a new adventure that will have fans begging for more! Who will be Earth’s Mightiest Heroes when the dust settles from SECRET WARS? Find out here!”

Ms. Marvel and the female Thor are both already visible on artist Jerome Opena’s cover, and the presence of this Thor will reassure those fans who worried her story would come to an abrupt end in Secret Wars, despite Marvel’s assurances that she would be around for years. As for Kamala Khan, I’m not sure who would be more excited to have her on an Avengers team, her or us.
We have a strong feeling that the figure at the front is a Spider-Man, and we think and hope it might be Miles Morales. The central figure behind him is obviously Captain America, aka Sam Wilson — the wings and shield are a dead give away.
That leaves three flying figures unaccounted for. The one on the lower right is probably the current Nova, Sam Alexander. Alongside Kamala and Miles, that would make for an unusually young Avengers line-up, though all of those characters are at the front, so maybe we’re looking at a row of trainees.
As for the back four, we have a Thor and a Cap, so tradition dictates an Iron Man, and that may be the figure to the left, though it’s a very slender armor. Superior Iron Man? Pepper Potts? Or someone new?
The final figure has a cape and maybe a cowl, or maybe even a hair cape, but it probably isn’t Medusa, whose hair is much longer (and who doesn’t usually fly). Your guesses on Twitter include Vision, Blue Marvel, Spectrum and Doctor Strange, and even The Wizard and classic Iron Man villain The Ghost.

BATTLEWORLD: DECIPHERING THE THEME PARK MAP OF THE POST-MARVEL UNIVERSE ( II )

A few more parts revealed....

5. TECHNOPOLIS

A strip of land inspired by the classic Iron Man Armor Wars storyline. We wondered if this zone might tie in to the current Superior Iron Man storyline in which a twisted Tony Stark is deliberately using his tech to reshape the world. In fact it's about a world where everyone wears Iron Man-style armor, designed by either Tony or his brother Arno.

6. CLASSIFIED

One of three Classified zones. This one divides Egyptia and Technopolis on one side from The Regency and King James' England on the other. If there's a theme to this cluster of worlds, it may be non-mutant futures and pasts. And that's not so much a theme as an enormous echoing hall. Let's say it's Earth X. Why would Marvel keep that a secret? No idea.

7. SPIDER-ISLAND

On the north coast of the main Battleworld continent, this island revives the Spider Island storyline in which Manhattan was overrun with millions of Spider-Men. We initially guessed this might tie in to Spider-Verse, but that's actually revived over in the zone called 'Arachnia,' so presumably this is just a straight-up Spider-Island-themed domain of Spider-Men.

8. THE REGENCY

The name traditionally refers to the period when King George III was too mad to rule the United Kingdom and his son, the Prince Regent, ruled in his place -- you know, like in that movie. But this is actually a world based on the One More Day story, in which Peter Parker used the devil to divorce his wife. Cool idea, bro.
The name Regency may relate to the Spider-Man story Reign, set in a future where Peter and Mary-Jane remained married (though a regency and a reign are technically mutually exclusive concepts). In this reality the couple are still married and raising their daughter May together. Dan Slott and Adam Kubert are the creative team on Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows.

BATTLEWORLD: DECIPHERING THE THEME PARK MAP OF THE POST-MARVEL UNIVERSE ( I )

The Marvel Universe and the Ultimate Universe are coming to an end as realities collide in Marvel’s 2015 event Secret Wars. Marvel has yet to reveal what shape its publishing line will take once the dust of that event has settled, but in the meantime the line is largely taken over by books set on “Battleworld,” a Frankenstein planet of alternate realities all mushed together.

1. GREENLAND

The clue is in the name; this Greenland is the Planet Hulk zone. This version of Planet Hulk sees writer Sam Humphries and artist Marc Laming drop an axe-wielding Captain America and his buddy Devil Dinosaur in the middle of a world of Hulks.
Planet Hulk is inevitably located right on top of..

2. DYSTOPIA

The Future Imperfect world. Long-time Hulk writer Peter David will oversee the Future Imperfect series, with art by Greg Land. Ruby Summers, futur daughter of Scott Summers and Emma Frost, will lead the rebellion against the despotic Maestro, aka the future Hulk.

3. DOMAIN OF APOCALYPSE

The Age of Apocalypse reality cuts a swath down the middle of the main Battleworld continent. We still don't know what story will be explored here, though at least one AoA character --- Kitty Pryde --- will show up in Star-Lord & Kitty Pryde

4. EGYPTIA

Located right on the borders of Apocalypse, the Egypt connection provides a thematic link; this is the home to the Egypt-themed Forever Yesterday world created by the villain Sphinx in the pages of New Warriors. No word on what book will be set here.

PARADISE X, FULL 14 ISSUES LIMITED SERIES, MARVEL, 2.003.

We are proud to present the third and final installement in the "X" trilogy.

In the first installement, Earth X, Captain America, the Fantastic Four, Thor, the Hulk and the X-Men discovered that their purpose - and the meaning of all super heroes and mutated people in the universe – was nothing more than to protect their host planet, in this case Earth, from outside invasion. They learned super heroes are merely biological antibodies to protect a growing embryo within the Earth. An embryo for the Celestial race: This is the way these Gods fought back – only to cause a terrible ecological imbalance, a rift at its core that in time would wipe out all life on the planet.

In the second installement, Universe X, Captain Marvel was reborn on Earth years after his death. But he also still claimed to walk in the realm of the unliving, where Earth's fallen champions still exist. Mar-Vell led a team of heroes in a quest for the greatest weapons of mass destruction on Earth, suggesting this would limit the destruction caused by the growing power struggle on the planet. But this was not the only reason. For his crusade on Earth only supported and armed a battle he fought in the realm of the fallen, a battle against Death herself. Those living champions who died in his collection of artifacts were added to the battle raging in this other realm. Mar-Vell led a charge against Death and killed her. But now that Death is dead, no one will ever die again. They may writhe in pain in hospitals because their bodies have been broken beyond repair, but they will not die. They will call out for an end to their suffering. They will cry out for peace but there will be no answer. Paradise will be denied them. Yes. Death is truly dead. Long live the living.

At the end of the third and final installement, Paradise X, the reader will notice that Mar-Vell remains physically alive after restoring death on our plane and when asked where he is going, he simply replies "Someplace better". Thus suggesting that breaking the unsaid rule of not bringing back the character in the medium is an unjust one.

"SECRET WARS" RESURRECTS A MUTANT NIGHTMARE IN "YEARS OF FUTURE PAST"

In the classic "Days of Future Past" storyline, the creative team of Chris Claremont and John Byrne illustrated just how important it was for the X-Men to change the attitudes and actions of those who fear and hate the Marvel Universe's mutant population. For two issues, readers found themselves transported to a dark, dystopian, possible future, where mutants and other superhumans were hunted, killed and imprisoned by giant Sentinel robots.

An adult Kitty Pryde kicked off the short-but-impactful arc by traveling back in time in an attempt to prevent her nightmarish future -- the then-distant 2013 -- from becoming a reality.

But what would have happened if time travel was never an option, forcing her instead to stay and fight to protect both her biological and extended family from extinction? Readers will get answers to this and more when "Years of Future Past" by writer Marguerite Bennett and artist Mike Norton, debuts in June. The "Secret Wars" series transports readers to the Sentinel Territories of the singular Battleworld the Marvel Multiverse has been reduced to.

"Star Wars: Journey to the Force Awakens - Shattered Empire" #1 cover by Phil Noto.
Marvel looks to fill the gap between "Return of the Jedi" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" this fall with "Star Wars: Journey to the Force Awakens - Shattered Empire," a new comic book series set to start in September 2015, there's no creative team or plot information available at this time, but the first teaser image, illustrated by "Black Widow" artist Phil Noto, depicts the festive heroes of the Rebel Alliance in midst of the Ewok-filled celebration scene that closed the original trilogy.

DC COMICS DEBUTS NEW COSTUMES FOR SUPERMAN AND WONDER WOMAN

Aaron Kuder's "Action Comics" #41 cover
This June, Superman and Wonder Woman join Batman in entering DC Comics' new era with new looks.

Artist Aaron Kuder's cover for "Action Comics" #41 gives a clean look at Superman's new duds, a throwback to the outfit Clark sported in Grant Morrison/Rags Morales' run on the title in 2012. Additionally, our hero's fists are wrapped and bloodied, indicating that perhaps his current 24-hour frame of powerlessness and vulnerability isn't quite that short.
Paulo Siqueira's cover for "Superman/Wonder Woman" #18

David Finch debuts Wonder Woman's look

Paulo Siqueira's cover for "Superman/Wonder Woman" #18 also show's Superman's new look, while debuting a new uniform for Wonder Woman that appears to be a significant departure from her classic costume.

Ardian Syaf illustrates a world's finest face off for "Batman/Superman" #21

GROOT SPROUTS A SOLO SERIES THIS JUNE

Groot #1 cover by Declan Shalvey
Everyone knows that Groot and Rocket Raccoon have one of the best friendships the universe, but what happens when they get separated? That’s the focus of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” writer Jeff Loveness and Disney Animation artist Brian Kesinger’s GROOT series kicking off in June!

Loveness makes his Marvel Comics debut this Wednesday with AMAZING SPIDER-MAN SPECIAL #1 and has a connection with the Wallcrawler, but like a lot of people he came to know the Monarch of Planet X from last summer’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” film.
Groot #1 preview art by Brian Kesigner

Groot will jump from teaming up with his pal Rocket to flying solo, no small feat for a man-thing of so few words.
As you might expect a being who only says “I am Groot,” gets into his fair share of trouble while trying to get from place to place.
The story might feature all kinds of aliens and actions, but at its heart.

ABOUT SUPERMAN'S NEW POWER AND NEW COSTUME

Superman may be the oldest superhero on the DC Comics roster, but there's still room to add new wrinkles to the cape. The latest evidence came in the form of "Superman" #38, released early last month, where the current creative team of writer Geoff Johns and artist John Romita Jr. added a new power to the Man of Steel's arsenal -- a high-powered solar flare, deployed during battle with newly introduced character, Ulysses.

That solar flare comes with a price -- Superman losing his powers for a period of 24 hours. That's the backdrop of "Superman" #39, scheduled for release on March 18 -- a temporarily human Caped Crusader bonding with Jimmy Olsen, who he revealed his secret identity to the issue before. "Superman" #39 is also Johns' final issue on the series, as the demands on his time as DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer (have you seen how many TV and film projects they have in the works?) have dropped his monthly comic output down to one title (for now), "Justice League." Romita steps into the role of both artist and writer with "Superman" #40, and new series writer Gene Luen Yang is set to join the veteran illustrator on the series in June.

SECRET WARS: KORVAC SAGA

This June, writer Dan Abnett treats readers to a completely different take on a classic Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy villain in KORVAC SAGA. Thanks Secret Wars, the cosmic veteran intends to show how Lord Michael Korvac responds when multiple threats arise to his Battleworld kingdom, Forest Hills.

Korvac, a classic Avengers and Guardians villain, was never just a villain, on Battleworld, he’s the lord of a New York like kingdom called Forest Hills, and the classic Guardians are his loyal retainers and royal bodyguard. But the kingdom is in jeopardy, from within and without.

While Major Victory leads Korvac’s forces, Abnett eagerly shares who else will make this story a must read.
“We have Starhawk, Charlie, Martinex, Yondu, Nikki and Geena,” he says. “We also have great guest stars: Korvac’s rival is Wonder Man, the lord of a neighboring kingdom—The Holy Wood—and Wonder Man wants to usurp Korvac’s rule and control both domains. Wonder Man has a royal bodyguard of his own. They’re called the Avengers. Captain Marvel, Yellowjacket, Hercules, Jocasta, Vision, Black Panther, Moondragon, and Black Widow”

Right out of the gate, a dark madness spreads through the people of Forest Hills. But Abnett cautions the insanity endangers more than just one domain:

“It’s not just a threat to Korvac and his kingdom. It’s a threat to everything.”
