SECRET WARS: KORVAC SAGA

This June, writer Dan Abnett treats readers to a completely different take on a classic Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy villain in KORVAC SAGA. Thanks Secret Wars, the cosmic veteran intends to show how Lord Michael Korvac responds when multiple threats arise to his Battleworld kingdom, Forest Hills.

Korvac, a classic Avengers and Guardians villain, was never just a villain, on Battleworld, he’s the lord of a New York like kingdom called Forest Hills, and the classic Guardians are his loyal retainers and royal bodyguard. But the kingdom is in jeopardy, from within and without.

While Major Victory leads Korvac’s forces, Abnett eagerly shares who else will make this story a must read.
“We have Starhawk, Charlie, Martinex, Yondu, Nikki and Geena,” he says. “We also have great guest stars: Korvac’s rival is Wonder Man, the lord of a neighboring kingdom—The Holy Wood—and Wonder Man wants to usurp Korvac’s rule and control both domains. Wonder Man has a royal bodyguard of his own. They’re called the Avengers. Captain Marvel, Yellowjacket, Hercules, Jocasta, Vision, Black Panther, Moondragon, and Black Widow”

Right out of the gate, a dark madness spreads through the people of Forest Hills. But Abnett cautions the insanity endangers more than just one domain:
